Last Day in New York – Day Three
On our last day in the Big Apple, we spend most of our time riding the subway around. Awesome. We checked out Battery Park, went to Zabar’s (a delicatessen store on the Upper West Side) and met with my friend Da’ad and her friends Deidra and Adidi at Cafe Lalo. One thing about Cafe Lalo, though: Their breakfast and brunch menus (until 4pm) are excellent. The dinner menu sucks. Unless you like cake.
Also we went to teany on the Lower East Side. I first went to teany in 2002, just after it opened. Back then I just liked the place for its location and vegan/vegetarian menu. Afterwards, I checked out their website and realized that it was co-owned by the musician Moby whose music I happen to like a lot. Nice coincidence. I have been there almost every time I came to New York after that – so about five or six times. The menu has changed a bit, but is still very nice. And they’ve got 99 different kinds of tea. This time we met Mike Myers at teany.
I didn’t film – I feel that that’s too much of an intrusion.
But I was excited nonetheless.
Ah, well. I’m a dork.
In other news: My laptop is back. The thief decided to send it back it seems.
