All right, this might somewhat qualify as g33k pr0n, but I am quite amazed with the Apple TV. If you don’t know what the Apple TV is, check out Apple’s info page first before reading on.
Now, so the Apple TV is a media center for the TV, big deal, right? Well, people went straight ahead and started to hack the Apple TV. Its original OS is a stripped-down version of OS X, so it was only logical for people to try to install a full version of OS X – giving you the cheapest Mac ever at $299.
While it won’t give you breathtaking performance, it nonetheless features:
- 1 GHz Intel Processor
- 256 MB RAM (not upgradeable for now)
- 40 GB hard drive
- support for USB Keyboard and Mouse
- built-in wireless networking
Call me a dork, but this sounds like a pretty cool weekend project.
