CNN whores bloggers, then fires own producer over blogging

CNN iReport

These days, CNN’s website is littered with iReports from ordinary people (aka bloggers). Heavily relying on research and original content creation coming from the blogosphere, CNN has no problem whatsoever exploiting the field for what it’s worth.

However, upon learning that a producer on American Morning was writing on the web, CNN freaks the fcuk out and fires him on the spot.

Oh, and if you are interested in providing CNN with news stories, photos or videos without receiving renumeration for your contribution, I suggest you check out CNN’s new iReport. Just make sure your employer doesn’t see you.

Pew Research Institute Survey on Bloggers

The Pew Research Institute conducted a study on ‘blogging’. Interesting stuff if you’re a geek:

Flickr Tag Cloud . . .

As you may know, the majority of the pictures on alexwrege.com are hosted on flickr, which is an online photo sharing thingy, quite popular with ‘em bloggers, I must say. Well, I paid $25 for a ‘pro’ account a couple of months ago, which allows me to transfer up to 2GB per month - no storage limit. I typically tag my images, so that they are searchable by other users.

Here’s my tag cloud, which shows which tags I have used very frequently:
