Grand Central Frozen in Time

All right, this is pretty cool:

From ImprovEverywhere.com, over 200 people freeze in place on cue in Grand Central Station in New York. This is one of over 70 different missions Improv Everywhere has executed over the past six years in New York City. Others include the No Pants Subway Ride, the Best Buy uniform prank, and the famous U2 Rooftop Hoax, to name a few.

Last Day in New York - Day Three

On our last day in the Big Apple, we spend most of our time riding the subway around. Awesome. We checked out Battery Park, went to Zabar’s (a delicatessen store on the Upper West Side) and met with my friend Da’ad and her friends Deidra and Adidi at Cafe Lalo. One thing about Cafe Lalo, though: Their breakfast and brunch menus (until 4pm) are excellent. The dinner menu sucks. Unless you like cake.

Also we went to teany on the Lower East Side. I first went to teany in 2002, just after it opened. Back then I just liked the place for its location and vegan/vegetarian menu. Afterwards, I checked out their website and realized that it was co-owned by the musician Moby whose music I happen to like a lot. Nice coincidence. I have been there almost every time I came to New York after that - so about five or six times. The menu has changed a bit, but is still very nice. And they’ve got 99 different kinds of tea. This time we met Mike Myers at teany.
I didn’t film - I feel that that’s too much of an intrusion.
But I was excited nonetheless.

Ah, well. I’m a dork.

New York City Day Two - The Upper West Side

We spend most of our time today on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Should you get to New York, this is definitely a very nice part of town and gives you a great idea of what New York also is - a city of neighborhoods. We had breakfast at Cafe Lalo which is on 83rd Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam, closer to Amsterdam, though. Also, Riverside Park and the adjacent boat basin are worth a visit. If you go, leave a comment and let me know how you liked the area.
