Last week saw a snow storm here in wonderful Toledo, Ohio. Things got bad pretty quickly and a Level 3 snow emergency was announced. This means that no driving is allowed. Since I consider myself ‘essential personnel’ at the university, I drove anyway.
Here’s some pictures:

The weather forecast already told us yesterday that we might be in some trouble today. The day started off pretty normal, at around 2 pm though, heavy storms and thunderstorms as well as pretty strong rain started hammering down on our tent. There were tornado warnings out and we had the best shelter of all: a tent that my dad and I got 3 years ago when he was visiting me from Germany. Well, the tent held up well, we survived and the Fort Myers Beach area seemed to have been ok, unlike further up north. Luckily my N93 came along for the ride, so I get to show you these (somewhat uneventful) images.
Toledo had a severe thunderstorm pass through today and my office is now ruined/under water. I have been working there until now (working=cleaning up), so I’m not in the mood to do a lot of writing. It is 1:45 am right now and there is still thunder and lightning outside. If you want to see all pictures of the water damage in my office, click here.
