Pro-Choice / Pro-Life protests at UT [graphic images]

A photography exhibition of aborted fetuses is at the University of Toledo. The students at UT rallied to express their displeasure and support of Roe vs. Wade. The pro-life group displayed shocking images of abortions to get their point across. I, personally, see very little value in showing these images - how can you advocate for a ban on abortions and at the same time tolerate hunger and ppor living conditions for millions of children in this country. Also, how can one life be more important than another, meaning, how can wage war and be pro life at the same time? Is that a contradiction?

All right, it’s 11:38 pm on a Friday evening and I am still at the university. Don’t ask me why. I updated the Earth Charter flyer, cleaned my desk (!), and . . . then it was pathetically late. Get the flyer here.

At least I finished my list of projects this week:

  • work on the department website using Serena Collage (don’t ask!)
  • work on other university websites, mostly merging and collapsing code
  • getting a poster made for Earth Fest
  • getting the flyer fixed
  • taking a videotape apart, and miraculously fixing it through reassembly (!?)
  • cleaning my desk (long overdue)
  • preparing a presentation for Dale
  • doing the usual The Climate Project stuff
  • teaching two classes @ 5 hours each
  • getting into seemingly countless arguments with my students

So, tell me, how was your week?
